1. Overview
TripVane is designed as a local-first travel weather application. This policy explains how information is handled when you use TripVane.
2. Accounts
No account or registration is required.
3. Trip Data
Trips, destinations, dates, saved forecasts, forecast changes and risk records are stored locally on your device.
4. Developer Data Collection
TripVane does not send user trip records to a developer-operated server. TripVane has no developer analytics backend, advertising SDK or tracking SDK.
5. Location
Location permission is optional. When enabled, location may be used to help determine trip progress. TripVane does not maintain a developer-operated server that receives location history. Location and weather services provided by Apple may process requests according to Apple's privacy policies.
6. Apple Services
TripVane uses Apple frameworks and services including WeatherKit, MapKit, Core Location, BackgroundTasks, UserNotifications and WidgetKit. Requests to Apple services may be processed according to Apple's privacy policies.
7. Weather Data
Weather forecasts may be requested based on destination coordinates. Weather information can change and is not guaranteed.
8. Notifications
TripVane uses local notifications. TripVane does not operate a remote push notification service.
9. Background Processing
iOS may allow background refresh. Timing is controlled by the operating system and is not guaranteed.
10. Widgets
TripVane and its Widget Extension share a limited cached widget snapshot using an Apple App Group container on the device.
11. GeoNames
TripVane includes a bundled city database containing data derived in part from GeoNames. GeoNames is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0.
12. Third-party Advertising and Analytics
TripVane does not use third-party advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs.
13. Children
TripVane is not specifically directed at children.
14. Data Deletion
Because TripVane does not require an account or developer server, users may remove trips in the app or remove locally stored app data by deleting the app.
15. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated if TripVane's privacy practices change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
