Privacy, by design

WhereYear Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 25, 2026

Overview

WhereYear is designed to keep your travel history private. The app does not require an account and does not send your stay history or precise location history to a server operated by the developer.

Information stored on your device

WhereYear stores the information you choose to create in the app, such as confirmed stays, planned departure dates, and app preferences, locally on your device. You may create a local backup or export confirmed stay history as CSV using the app’s built-in tools.

Location

If you grant location permission, WhereYear may use location information on your device to help determine your current country or region. Precise location history is not stored as a travel history by the developer. You can change or revoke permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Notifications

If you enable departure reminders, notification scheduling is handled by iOS on your device. WhereYear does not use notifications for advertising.

Sharing and third parties

WhereYear does not sell personal information and does not use advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party tracking SDKs. Information you export or share is controlled by you and is subject to the privacy practices of the destination you choose.

Data deletion

You can delete stays and other app data using the controls provided in WhereYear, or remove the app from your device. Local backups and exported files are separate files and must be deleted by you.

Children’s privacy

WhereYear does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if WhereYear’s functionality or data practices change. The current version will remain available on this page with an updated effective date.
